Creating Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities
Simcoe County Schools Support Children’s Mental Health Week 2013

During the week of May 5-11, 2013, we will be celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week 2013 by dedicating our Daily Physical Activity (DPA) time to “Walk for Children’s Mental Health”.

Children’s Mental Health Week 2013 is celebrated throughout Ontario, across Canada and around North America.

Many activities and events have been planned to create awareness and eliminate the stigma surrounding children’s mental health.  The message is clear:

  • One in five youth in Ontario struggle with mental health issues
  • Treatment interventions work, especially when  provided early
  • Programs and services are available to support children, youth and their families

For more information and material on children’s mental health please contact the following website  http://www.kidsmentalhealth.ca/ or the school office.   Together we can develop healthy minds, healthy kids, and healthy communities.
